According to the President, Washington will impose a 100% tariff on all branded or patented pharmaceutical products beginning October 1. Trump added that exceptions will be made for manufacturers who have already started constructing their factories in the United States.

On May 12, the President signed an executive order that led to a 59-90% reduction in drug prices in the United States. During a press conference, he stated that tariffs would be imposed on imported pharmaceutical products if prices in the country do not align with prices in other nations.
