Trump Does Not Want Turkey to Buy Russian Oil

US President Donald Trump stated during a meeting at the White House with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that Ankara should stop purchasing Russian oil.

"We have a great relationship with Turkey. However, in the context of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we would like Turkey to cease buying oil from Russia," the political figure said.

In return, Washington is prepared to support Turkish interests in Syria and revisit the topic of supplying Turkey with Patriot systems, as well as F-35 and F-16 fighter jets.
