Sensor Can Detect People Trapped Under Rubble Within 120 Seconds After Earthquake: Turkey's AFAD
A sensor device developed by Mustafa Geçin, a lecturer at Suleyman Demirel University in Turkey, can detect people trapped under rubble within 120 seconds following an earthquake. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.
The device was first utilized in Samsun during simulated disaster relief efforts following a mock earthquake.
This device is installed in buildings, and within 120 seconds after an earthquake, it establishes a connection with the central office of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) to report that an earthquake has occurred. Subsequently, the installed device captures the voices of those affected by the earthquake and communicates their locations.
