I Receive Letters Saying 'You Should Be Killed, the Car Should Be Blown Up': Papoyan on Parakar Murder

“I myself receive numerous letters. I publish and someone writes that ‘you should be killed, you should be blown up, the car should be blown up.’ Sometimes we are also to blame. Perhaps it is right that we send all cases to law enforcement agencies,” said Gevorg Papoyan, the Minister of Economy of Armenia, during a conversation with journalists, speaking about the murder of Vardevan Grigoryan, the head of the Parakar community.

When asked if he sees any shortcomings on the part of the government or law enforcement agencies, Papoyan replied, “I believe that the law enforcement system should, of course, investigate everything, starting from detection to what should have been done to prevent this. A very condemnable thing has happened; any violence is strictly condemnable for us.”
