U.S. Ambassador: Territorial Demands on Azerbaijan Should be Excluded from Armenia's Constitution

The "Zangezur Corridor" could attract significant investments into Azerbaijan, stated former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza during an international investment conference. Bryza emphasized that by leveraging its relationships with Turkey, Georgia, and Europe, Azerbaijan is strengthening its independence and creating an appealing investment environment.

“At that time, Heydar Aliyev declared that Azerbaijan’s oil and gas were open to the world and stated the need to attract foreign investors. Back then, the U.S. had more geopolitical than economic interests here,” he noted.

Bryza further added, “The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has long been a threat to investors.” According to Azerbaijani media reports, the former ambassador highlighted the necessity of excluding territorial claims on Azerbaijan from Armenia's Constitution.
