Shameful: This Will Be the Strongest Response, Erdoğan on Recognizing Palestine as a State
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that the recognition of Palestine by other countries is the strongest response to occupation, blockade, and oppression in the region. He made this remark in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek.
“A just peace can only be achieved through the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, preserving its territorial integrity and capital in East Jerusalem. This is crucial for long-lasting peace and stability in the Middle East. Our message to the nations of the world is clear: 'Recognize the State of Palestine.' The recognition of Palestine is indeed the strongest response to occupation, blockade, and oppression. We congratulate the countries that have recently declared their support in this regard and expect them to maintain their stance,” Erdoğan added.
Erdoğan referred to the situation in Gaza as “a shame for all humanity.”
