Pre-signing of Peace Agreement Recognizes Azerbaijan's Sovereignty, Says Attorney General
Azerbaijan has always been an advocate for peace, and even during the times when our lands were under occupation, it has consistently made efforts to resolve the issue through peaceful means. This statement was made by Azerbaijan's Attorney General Kamran Aliyev.
“However, despite the existence of 4 UN resolutions recognizing the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and calling for their unconditional liberation, the Armenian side has not returned the occupied territories. Azerbaijan remains in favor of peace today, just as always,” said the Attorney General.
According to him, the pre-signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on August 8 this year in Washington, D.C., at the White House is a vivid example of this. “This document is not only a new chapter in the relations between the two states but also a historic turning point for ensuring sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus, as well as further economic development. At the same time, this document signifies global recognition of Azerbaijan's sovereignty,” he added.
