Our compatriots living in unfriendly countries are under serious pressure, says Zakharova
In the context of the formation of a new world order and the West losing its positions, it continues to impose neoliberal attitudes that contradict human nature and lead to the loss of national identity. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in her video address to participants of the media forum of Russian-speaking foreign media in Istanbul.
Amid the formation of a multipolar world and the establishment of fair rules in international relations, the West is losing its dominant position. However, the negative effects are particularly acute for Russian compatriots living in unfriendly countries, who are increasingly facing discrimination, pressure, and even direct threats.
“Our compatriots living in unfriendly countries are under serious pressure, sometimes even actual threats. This manifests itself in violations of their rights, hindering public activities and the work of Russian-language media. A real persecution of Russian journalism has begun,” stated Zakharova.
Zakharova emphasized that the historical truth is undeniable; it will live on and be passed on to future generations. In this regard, she highlighted the role of Russian media, which, according to her, act as informational intermediaries, adapting the Russian agenda to the realities of their countries.
