Turkey Expected to Receive Hundreds of New Aircraft
Boeing and Lockheed Martin are set to receive major aircraft orders from Turkey as early as next week, with agreements potentially including up to 250 commercial aircraft for Turkish Airlines and additional F-16 fighter jets. This is reported by Bloomberg.
These sales may also help resolve the long-standing dispute regarding Turkey's exclusion from the F-35 program following the purchase of the Russian S-400 system.
US President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet with Turkish President Erdoğan in Washington on September 25 to discuss trade and defense deals worth tens of billions of dollars. The negotiations include 40 F-35 fighter jets, 40 F-16 Viper jets, munitions, and Boeing aircraft, although discussions on pricing and final terms are still ongoing.
