Trump Suspends Military Aid to Taiwan
US President Donald Trump has suspended a $400 million weapons shipment to Taiwan that was scheduled for this summer. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing five sources. According to them, the decision is linked to efforts in Washington to finalize a trade agreement with China and arrange a meeting with Xi Jinping.
The White House notes that a final decision regarding the aid package to Taiwan has not yet been made. According to the newspaper, the rejection pertains to the supply of ammunition and autonomous drones. Sources indicate that this aid package would have been more lethal than previous American military supplies provided to Taiwan.
