Armenia Supports the Establishment of a Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia Transport Corridor
The 11th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan took place, co-chaired by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Economy Serik Jumangarin.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan emphasized the importance of developing relations with Kazakhstan, including within the framework of the EAEU, and highlighted the untapped potential in the area of trade and economic partnership.
Grigoryan particularly focused on cooperation in the transport sector. “The Republic of Armenia supports the project to create a multimodal freight transport corridor via the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route. At the same time, freight transportation is already being carried out along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route, indicating a growing interest in expanding the transport and logistics ties between our countries. I believe these freight transports can become regular, especially considering the potential interest of Armenian entrepreneurs in the opportunities provided by the 'Khorgos' international center for border cooperation located at the Kazakhstan-China border,” mentioned the Deputy Prime Minister.
The development of interregional transport and logistics infrastructure is especially significant for Armenia in the context of the implementation of the 'Peace Crossroads' infrastructure project,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
