Eiffel Tower Closed Amid Protests in Paris

Thousands have taken to the streets of Paris to protest against President Emmanuel Macron's government, according to Associated Press reports. Strikes that have paralyzed the Paris metro and disrupted other services are accompanied by clashes with police, who have deployed tear gas.

Protesters argue that the president's eight years in office have benefited very few while harming many others.

The nationwide strike has resulted in the closure of even the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It is reported that 181 people have been arrested during the clashes in France.
