Three Villagers Died in the April War: Sofia Hovsepyan Remembers

Independent MP Sofia Hovsepyan has made a post on her Facebook page about the victims during the April War whom she knew personally.

“Three villagers of mine died in the April War: Argishti, Monte (Benik), and Arman. Alongside them, over 100 young men lost their lives. The wound had not yet closed, and the number became 5,000. Arman was killed in Mehakavan, and Monte in Fizuli. In late April 2020, I was last in Talish, where Argishti Gaboyan died. His house is located there; I approached the house, wandered a bit, and knew that I would return again...”

“I excitedly told the villagers that I was from Argishti’s village and that everyone knew him. I promised that when the epidemic was over, we would come and celebrate Argishti’s birthday here again, but… his birthday is in a month…”

“During the liberation of Talish, my fellow villager Haik Galstyan was killed in 1994, and Argishti Gaboyan during the defense of Talish in 2016. This village was very dear to me… The scent of blood had not yet faded from the village…”

“Let us hope and believe that one day we will plant trees there… Eternal glory to our immortal heroes, we remember you and bow before your graves,” she wrote.
