Disagreements Between Netanyahu and His Security Service Are Growing

According to The New York Times, disagreements are increasing between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his security service. The newspaper reports that senior military and security officials in Israel have recently expressed dissent with the Prime Minister over three main policy issues: his decisions regarding the conquest of the city of Gaza, targeting high-ranking Hamas officials in Qatar, and his approach to negotiations for a ceasefire.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has opposed the government's decision to invade Gaza in recent weeks. Despite his resistance, Israel has initiated a ground incursion into the city this week. General Zamir is concerned about the depletion of reserves following nearly two years of war in the Gaza Strip, security officials have reported.
