EU Countries Should Halt Imports of Indian and Turkish Oil Products from Russia: US Calls

The United States believes that EU countries should cease imports of both liquefied natural gas and Indian and Turkish oil products derived from Russian crude oil in order to fully renounce Russian energy and transition to American oil and liquefied natural gas. This was stated by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

Wright presented this position in an interview with the Euractiv portal. As noted by the portal, analysts consider these plans unrealistic.

In July, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen promised US President Donald Trump that the EU would completely ban all imports of Russian energy resources to member countries and would acquire $750 billion worth of American oil, gas, nuclear equipment, and fuel, while investing $600 billion in the US economy.
