Borodin Submits Petition to Strip Pugacheva of People's Artist Title

Vitaly Borodin, head of the federal project for combating corruption and security in the Russian Federation, has approached President Vladimir Putin with a proposal to strip Alla Pugacheva of her title as People's Artist and all state honors. The cause for this proposal stems from the singer's recent interview.

Borodin stated that Pugacheva has "betrayed the country," and her remarks supporting Dzhokhar Dudayev were "scripted by British intelligence services to divide society." He emphasized, "We believe that Pugacheva is unworthy of the title of People's Artist of Russia."

Previously, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, sharply criticized the interview, calling it a "market of hypocrisy." Additionally, the assistant to the Chechen leader and Minister of National Policy for the Republic, Akhmed Dudayev, stated that Pugacheva "offends the entire Chechen nation" and that her statements are provocative.
