The U.S. Places Israel Above Regional Allies, Says Fidan

The U.S. classifies Israel above its regional allies, stated Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He expressed that the U.S.-Israel relationship is exceptional, which undermines Washington's standing in the Middle East.

“As you know, all Gulf countries, Turkey, and our president have special relations with the U.S. However, in the American political system, the relationship with Israel is unique. Unfortunately, this relationship is classified above interactions with other countries in the region. And, of course, this situation costs America its position in our region. It offends America’s regional friends, and it is difficult for the U.S. to stop this,” he said in an interview with the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.
