Sewage Manhole Paved Over Alongside Road in Ejmiatsin: "Hetq"

In the area highlighted in the photo, there used to be a sewage manhole prior to the road paving. However, following the asphalt work, residents are unable to locate the manhole. The asphalt paving of the section of St. Movses Khorenatsi-Teryan road starting from the intersection of Charents Street in Ejmiatsin was completed at midnight on August 31, 2025, in order to have the road open for students on September 1.

However, upon the dawn of September 1, the residents of four private houses on Khorenatsi Street noticed that the sewage manhole had disappeared. It turned out that the manhole had also been paved over, and its trace was "lost." This was reported by "Hetq."

Alongside the road reconstruction works, a new sewage line was also installed. One of the residents, Vardan Arakelyan, informed "Hetq" that the reconstruction of Khorenatsi Street began on April 28, 2025. During this time, construction workers damaged the sewage line of his house twice. The foul odor and wastewater filled the area around his house. According to Arakelyan, the construction company repaired the sewage line the first time, while he had to cover the entire cost of around 100,000 drams for the second repair and for connecting to the new sewage line.

When the asphalt work was completed at midnight on August 31, the residents of the mentioned four houses could not have imagined that they would see their sewage manhole in a paved condition the next morning.
