Armenian Gymnast Hamlet Manukyan's Name Will Be Associated with a New Element in Artistic Gymnastics

European champion and youth world championship winner Hamlet Manukyan has achieved a historic milestone at the World Challenge Cup in artistic gymnastics, taking place in Paris, France. According to ArmSport.am, Manukyan successfully passed the qualifying round of the pommel horse event and advanced to the finals.

The 17-year-old athlete executed a new element on the apparatus, which will officially bear his surname—'Manukyan.'

Armenian gymnasts who have elements named after them include Hrant Shahinyan (pommel horse), Albert Azaryan (rings), Artur Hakobyan (vault), Vahagn Stepanyan (pommel horse), Vahagn Davtyan (rings), Huri Gebeshyan (parallel bars), and Artur Davtyan (pommel horse).
