Typical for the Dashnak Party to Act Late, Says Rubinyan on Protest in Front of Government
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan commented on the protest held by the Youth Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in front of the government. "I do not regard young people, including the Dashnak youth, lightly; let me say the following: it is very strange that I am holding a session in the National Assembly about the water intake in Sevan while a protest is taking place in front of the government," he stated.
"The agenda of the picket is to express dissatisfaction to the negotiators involved in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process. One of those negotiators is me. This is very typical for the Dashnak Party to do something that is belated, meaningless, and based on false information," he added.
Rubinyan noted that the 'picket' should have happened two hours earlier and that the second event should have taken place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not at the government, as the meeting was held in the Ministry's building.
It is worth mentioning that the ARF youth held a protest near the government building, where they specifically announced: "Turkey's special representative Seydar Kılıç has arrived in Armenia under the guise of normalizing inter-state relations between Armenia and Turkey. However, we all understand that this meeting is in the context of meeting the political side’s preconditions."
