During the discussion of the State Revenue Committee's annual report in the National Assembly, the MP from the 'Armenia' faction, Tadevos Avetisyan, stated: 'April 19 is the day of the taxpayer not to impose the importance of collecting tax at all costs on society, nor to convince or explain to the public, because they know very well what taxes are and they pay them, but rather to ensure a simple thing — the principle of justice. According to him, when a working poor person sees that the state takes tax from him at the same rate as from someone earning millions of drams, it is not understandable for that working poor person.'

Avetisyan also stated that it is contrary to the principle of justice when the state tells an entrepreneur that 20% of their turnover is assessed as profit and must be taxed. 'These are the ones who have manifestations of tax terror and tax collection,' Avetisyan said.

Tadevos Avetisyan also emphasized the importance of the effective use of collected taxes, noting that when a taxpayer sees how the authorities squander taxes by making purchases from loyalists or wasting funds like ANIF, the principle of justice is ultimately violated.
