Russia and Belarus Recognized as 'State Sponsors of Terrorism' by U.S. Senator
U.S. senators are proposing to recognize Russia and Belarus as 'state sponsors of terrorism', according to Axios. The publication notes that under current U.S. legislation, the list includes Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
“It's hard to get on that list. But I will tell you that Russia has earned the right to be on it,” said U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
The article states that the bill aims to designate Russia and Belarus as sponsors of terrorism if they do not “return more than 19,000 children, who according to Ukraine, were abducted during the conflict.”
