Russia's Lavrov: The U.S. Should Address Root Causes of Conflict Instead of Arming Kiev
There is an understanding in the U.S. about the need to address not just arming Ukraine, but also tackling the radical root causes of the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this after a ministerial meeting in the format of the "Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Gulf" as reported by RIA Novosti.
“In the U.S., there is a growing understanding of the necessity to avoid further poisoning Ukraine against Russia and not to arm Ukraine, thus preventing its citizens from being thrown again into the meat grinder of war. Instead, the focus should be on addressing the radical root causes of the crisis. Based on this, we will develop dialogue with both the U.S. and all our partners ready to assist in finding coordinated solutions,” said Lavrov.
Earlier, Lavrov had stated that tensions in the Middle East had sharply increased due to Israel's bombing of Doha.
