Nikol Pashinyan Discusses Meeting with Aliyev: Key Takeaways
During the meeting with Aliyev, the main takeaway was that both sides reaffirmed their commitments to previous agreements. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Munich and surrounding areas.
"From the meeting, I can say the following: there was, in essence, an important issue on the table, which was whether the sides reaffirm their previously reached agreements made during the quadrilateral meeting in Prague and also during the Brussels negotiations. And essentially, the main takeaway was that both sides remain committed to their agreements," Pashinyan said.
He noted that an agreement was reached for a forthcoming meeting of foreign ministers, after which there will be a meeting of the commission on demarcation and delimitation, which has already held several sessions. Overall, if the agreements reached are maintained, their implementation will help reduce border tensions.
“We are steadfast in our commitment to these agreements. Some articles of the peace treaty have been coordinated, but several articles of fundamental importance have not yet been agreed upon. Work needs to be done in this direction,” Pashinyan added.
