The Safety of Residents in Nerkin Hand is Completely Disrupted: Arman Tatoyan
The former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, raises alarm: “In the first image, you can see the water from the Nerkin Hand River, which people are forced to drink and use for kitchen and other household needs, since the drinking water sources of the village have been occupied by Azerbaijan since September 13, 2022. The second and third images show a window in the room of one of the residents of Nerkin Hand, which has been damaged by Azerbaijani gunfire. The house is located less than 100 meters away in a direct line from the Azerbaijani position.
In these conditions, where the safety of people is completely undermined in the village of Nerkin Hand of the Syunik Province, Kapan community, homes and the school are under Azerbaijani fire, the Armenian government is examining whether our soldiers have 'violated the peace of Azerbaijani soldiers.' This is solely an agenda beneficial to Azerbaijan. We must not allow the continued crimes of the Azerbaijani authorities against the country and its people to be forgotten or fall out of the international agenda.”
