PEK President Explains What to Expect If Declaration Is Not Submitted

In Armenia, approximately 92,000 salaried employees have submitted income declarations. The head of the State Revenue Committee, Edward Hakobyan, announced this in the National Assembly.

As Hakobyan noted, this accounts for only 15 percent of the total number of declarees before the November 1 deadline. The official emphasized that those who do not fill out the declaration will face fines according to the law. Initially, a warning will be issued, followed by a fine, which will double thereafter.

“I urge citizens to fill out their declarations on time. The SRC actually fills in an enormous amount of information in these declarations. That is, we provide considerable information, which is in our possession, on behalf of our citizens. They only need to review the declaration and fill out the empty parts, which include incomes we have no knowledge of,” he said.

To complete the declaration, a new sample identification card is required. Hakobyan stated that delays have been observed in issuing these cards, but more than 600,000 citizens have already received them.

It should be recalled that salaried employees, as well as citizens earning taxable income under civil contracts, need to submit declarations for the year 2024 by May 1 of this year. The deadline for declaration submission was later extended to November 1.

If a declarant has made social expenditures, they are entitled to compensation, which amounts to a maximum of 100,000 AMD annually.
