India Must Cease Purchasing Russian Oil, Says U.S. Commerce Secretary
Ofelya
The United States may finalize a trade agreement with India once the latter stops buying Russian oil. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
“We are prepared to address this issue with India. India, as a whole, needs to open its market and cease purchases of Russian oil. I believe everything will be resolved when they stop buying Russian oil,” the secretary said.
It is noteworthy that the United States has imposed additional tariffs of 25% on India related to the purchase of Russian oil and petroleum products. As a result, tariffs on the import of Indian goods and services have been raised to 50%. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has termed these actions as unjust.
