Alen Simonyan's Remarks on the Opposition

The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, addressed his press conference and the events that followed. He stated, 'Today I held yet another press conference, which, if summarized in one sentence, was about how there is no longer an opposition in the National Assembly. After that, the members of parliament who consider themselves to be in opposition, one after the other, reacted to my press conference and from the 50-minute conference, they focused on the fact that more people would gather around my photo than at their rally. Indeed, the parliamentary opposition is no more, and we are witnessing their last gasps.'

He continued, 'Look, I've given you 50 minutes, and you're now discussing my picture? Here’s a photo for you, discuss that.'

He also attached the following image and wrote: 'Pushok, didn’t you tell your brother that after the incident with the citizen, you called me and said, 'What a great text you've written,' offering your support? Listen, say such things so that you don’t alienate your close ones. This isn’t like the story of getting beaten in Cyprus, where you take a picture seven days later and write that nothing happened to you, then sit and shake, hoping a video doesn’t come out. What will you do, or will you sequentially call media outlets, begging them not to write about it? I’m telling you, call me, you’re an interesting guy, why aren’t you calling? Until you call me, this will not end, yeah, I'm going to give you a piercing headache, then more, then even more.'

To be continued...
