Armenian Ambassador in Ukraine Appeals to Armenian Residents
The Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine, Tigran Seyranyan, has issued an appeal to Armenian citizens and ethnic Armenians residing in Ukraine. He stated, “Recent military actions provoked by Azerbaijan in the northeastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have reverberated in various regions of the world. Numerous incidents of violence against Armenian citizens and members of Armenian communities have been recorded in many countries, including Ukraine, with attempts to damage or destroy their properties. Fortunately, the situation has not spiraled out of control.”
“We urge everyone to remain vigilant, avoid falling for provocations, and refrain from visiting clubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues alone or in small groups, especially during late hours. The risk of COVID-19 infection still persists, and until the tension subsides, we recommend minimizing visits to grocery markets,” he added.
The embassy is in contact with Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and reputable individuals as necessary. Ukrainian law enforcement is particularly vigilant these days and is taking measures to prevent inter-ethnic incidents. In emergencies, please contact the following: Ukrainian police (102), the Union of Armenians in Ukraine (0800503311), the Armenian Embassy in Ukraine (0442349005), or the Armenian Consulate General in Odesa (0487039176).
