Pashinyan Addresses the Use of the Term 'Zangezur Corridor'
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the use of the term 'Zangezur Corridor' by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly. He stated that the signed document requires the communications of Armenia and Azerbaijan to connect with each other, but the TRIPP project is a matter of bilateral discussion between Armenia and the United States, and it has the signatures not only of the Prime Minister of Armenia but also of the President of the United States and the President of Azerbaijan.
Additionally, Pashinyan mentioned that Armenia and the U.S. have signed a memorandum of intent regarding the development of the 'Peace Crossroads' project, where they agreed that the project would be carried out based on the principles of Armenia's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and inviolability of borders, and that the U.S. is interested in making investments there.
"This project regarding the opening of regional communications must connect Azerbaijan, and the communications of Armenia and Azerbaijan should touch each other. There are signatures of the leaders of three countries under that document," Pashinyan declared. He emphasized that the notion of a 'Zangezur Corridor' cannot exist within the territory of Armenia, calling it a subjective reality.
