Why do our patriotic fans do things that harm all of us: Alen Simonyan

RA National Assembly President Alen Simonyan has commented on the Armenia-Portugal match, where Armenia suffered a significant 5:0 defeat to Portugal. He stated, “We all love to criticize each other, and we often criticize our football as well. But there are things that I, for example, do not understand: why do our fans, the patriotic fans, do things that harm us all?”

“For instance, why should we do things that result in the Armenian federation having to pay fines? Why is it necessary to set off fireworks and light fires, which cost us thousands of euros each time? What’s the point of detonating such a loud explosion during the Armenia-Portugal match when we are losing 0-5, and it’s the 63rd minute, and our player is struggling to make an attack, right next to his ear? This is unacceptable. This is not good culture; this is not a proper way to support our team.”
