Ovchuk Warns Armenia: The Presence of Extra-Regional Players in the South Caucasus is Worrisome
The potential presence of extra-regional players in the South Caucasus is concerning, with fears that their involvement could disrupt the fragile balance in this sensitive region. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Ovchuk in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“It cannot be said that there is no concern regarding the possible presence of extra-regional representatives in the South Caucasus. There are fears that such a presence could violate the balance that has been established in this very fragile region,” Ovchuk said during the Eastern Economic Forum, responding to a question about potential risks for Russia associated with the transfer of control over the 'Zangezur Corridor' to the United States for a duration of 99 years.
