Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will be authorized to use secondary titles such as ‘War Secretary’ and ‘Department of War’ in official correspondence, public statements, and ceremonies. According to American media, Trump is expected to sign the relevant directive today.

It is noteworthy that the U.S. military department was called the Department of War until 1949, when it was renamed the Department of Defense.
