The Grenade Discovered During Today’s Raids Was Combat-Ready: Investigative Committee Provides Details

During the preliminary investigation initiated regarding the illegal circulation of weapons, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials, devices, and objects in preparation for terrorism, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reported on the objects seized during the raids conducted today.

It has come to attention that attempts are being made in the media, as well as by various individuals, to disseminate misinformation suggesting that the discovered objects were intended for other purposes and do not pose any public danger.

In this regard, we inform you that according to the results of the court-ordered explosive, forensic, and chemical examinations carried out, the grenade seized during today’s searches is a combat-ready “F1” grenade, and the two electric detonators are also classified as military ammunition.

Considering the above, we urge everyone to refrain from spreading disinformation driven by personal or other motives, as well as to avoid circulating false information that does not originate from the materials of the criminal case among the public.

The Investigative Committee will continue to effectively implement the challenges of the preliminary investigation with a steadfast commitment to the principles of legality and justice, ensuring that it employs the permissible tools stipulated by criminal procedure law to combat any form of unlawful criminal encroachment.

We remind you that in connection with the case of preparing for terrorism, seven individuals have been arrested.
