Maria Zakhrova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that her popularity in China is not related to criticism from the United States but rather due to her beauty. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

The diplomat mentioned that a Chinese official told her that she is recognized in China. In response, as noted by Zakhrova, she decided to joke and asked whether her popularity was connected to the ministry's criticism of the United States.

“He looked at me mysteriously and said, ‘Not at all. Because you are beautiful,’” Zakhrova conveyed her interlocutor's words from China.
