Mob in Great Britain Destroys Refugee Center

Hundreds of people opposed to the acceptance of refugees in Great Britain attacked a hotel in Rotherham (South Yorkshire) yesterday, where immigrants are housed. Initially, the crowd shouted anti-immigration slogans, but then the enraged mob threw chairs, tables, beer cans, and other objects at the police trying to maintain order, according to the Daily Mail.

Videos posted on social media show police attempting to remove the protesters from the hotel before clashes began between them and the immigrants. The police deployed pepper spray, but by that time, some of the anti-immigrant protesters had managed to storm the hotel, as reported by Bild. They broke down doors and smashed the windows of the immigration center with chairs.

Police transported one of their colleagues in an ambulance, and several of the most aggressive protesters were arrested. The Mirror reported that a similar protest took place in Tamworth, in front of a hotel housing refugees, where demonstrators threw stones at both the police and the building's windows.

A 17-year-old boy had previously stabbed three girls during a dance event in Southport, Northern England, on Monday, August 29. Initially, there were rumors that the assailant was Muslim and seeking asylum in Great Britain; however, the police later clarified that the attacker, who is 17 years old, was born in Great Britain, with parents who moved to the country from Rwanda.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has already stated that the actions of the "right-wing" group responsible for the disturbances are inexcusable. He promised that those responsible will be held accountable.
