The Dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group is Justified, Says Zakharova

We believe that the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group is well-founded and justified, given the radical changes in the situation in the region. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“The initiative to close the Minsk institutions belongs to Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the foreign ministers of these countries addressed the OSCE with the corresponding proposal on August 11, confirming that Baku and Yerevan no longer require the toolkit of the Minsk process,” Zakharova noted.

“I would like to remind you that throughout the work of the Minsk Group, the Russian co-chairmanship has made every effort to solve the problems raised for the benefit of the reconciliation of our friendly peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” stated representatives from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
