Poland Sets Conditions for Defending Ukraine's Airspace
Poland intends to receive security guarantees from its allies before joining the initiative to defend Ukraine's airspace. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to reporters after a meeting of the 'coalition of volunteers' in Paris, as reported by TASS.
“I clarified to our partners that while defending Ukraine's airspace, Poland demands strengthening its own security in return,” Tusk said during a press briefing. He emphasized that Warsaw cannot allow even a slight weakening of its defense capacity.
The Prime Minister added that Polish experts will participate in the discussion of the details of this initiative.
It is noteworthy that on September 4, a meeting of countries within the so-called 'coalition of volunteers' took place in Paris, where, among other issues, the topic of providing security guarantees to Ukraine was discussed. French President Emmanuel Macron noted that coalition members have reached out to 35 countries, 26 of which have expressed willingness to send their troops to Ukraine after a ceasefire or peace establishment.
