Italian Prime Minister Refuses to Send Troops to Ukraine

The Italian government will not send its troops to Ukraine. This was stated in the announcement made by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after a meeting with leaders of the 'Coalition of Volunteers', reported TASS.

'Prime Minister Meloni confirmed that Italy will not send troops to Ukraine but is ready to support any possible ceasefire,' the statement said.

On September 4, U.S. President Donald Trump held a video conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, President Volodymyr Zelensky, and leaders of the 'Coalition of Volunteers'. The meeting itself took place at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

Besides Macron, the meeting included Zelensky, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and other EU leaders. In total, representatives from 39 countries participated online in the meeting.
