Construction Company Representative Discusses Concerns Raised About Tsitsernakaberd Renovations
Complaints from people can be divided into two categories. Some individuals were against the project altogether, but discussions among experts suggest that it was indeed necessary. This was stated by Hovhannes Yepremyan, a representative of the "Bidek" company, responsible for the renovations at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, during a press conference.
"The second category of complaints pertains to the improper organization of the construction site by the construction company. The organization had delegated the construction work to others, and they did not manage the construction site properly, for which we ask for the public's forgiveness on behalf of those individuals. Currently, the construction site is being organized appropriately. There were comments because it is the number one monument in Armenia; those pipes could have been less rusty. We accepted that, and now, as you can see, the construction site is being reconstructed, and everything will be in a very decent state after the completion of the work. We thought it wouldn't be a difficult task, but during the process, people noticed it, raised issues, and we redirected our efforts; now we are doing everything with our own resources. The observations made by the people were indeed correct," he stated.
"If anyone has questions regarding the project, they should contact the client, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MOESCS). As for how the construction should be carried out, we are currently in a discussion phase on how to do it more correctly. At this stage, the work has been halted until perhaps some amendments can be made to the project. Currently, groundwork is being done for the construction site, drainage systems are being installed, and grass cover will completely cover the lawns. The drainage and roof insulation work for the museums is being carried out to a very high standard, and results will soon be visible. Additionally, issues regarding drainage around the memorial complex still need to be resolved, which has been lacking. I hope people's concerns will be alleviated, and the final result will satisfy everyone," the company representative emphasized.
He assured that the memorial complex will not be closed at any moment, and people can visit at any time: "We will ensure that visitor access is not hindered."
