Xi Jinping Challenges the International System: Kallas

Chinese leader Xi Jinping is directly challenging the international system, and Europe must respond to this. This was stated by the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

“While Western leaders unite in diplomacy, the autocratic alliance is seeking a fast track to a new world order. If you look at President Xi Jinping, who stands next to the leaders of Russia, Iran, and North Korea in Beijing, this is not just anti-Western rhetoric, but a direct challenge to the system based on international rules. And this is not merely symbolic. Russia's war in Ukraine is supported by China. These are realities that Europe must confront,” said the head of European diplomacy.
