Iran and IAEA Representatives to Meet in Vienna in Coming Days: Grossi

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has announced that efforts are being made to organize a meeting with representatives from Iran in the coming days. He disclosed this information to Reuters.

“We are trying to arrange a new meeting for an inspection visit, perhaps here in Vienna. It would be very good if we could coordinate it by next week,” said Grossi.

According to him, the IAEA does not have information regarding the transfer of enriched uranium stocks in Iran, and this needs to be verified.

It should be recalled that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a decree on July 2 to implement a law halting cooperation with the IAEA. Following the publication of the document, agency inspectors were expelled from the country. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi noted that despite the decision to suspend cooperation with the IAEA, the pathways for collaboration are not closed.

Iran considers the assurance of safety for its nuclear facilities and atomic sector scientists a condition for restoring cooperation.
