UK to Extend Protection Program for Ukrainian Citizens

The United Kingdom will extend its protection program for Ukrainian citizens by an additional two years. This was announced by the country's Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper.

The program for extending permissions for Ukrainians began in 2022 for a duration of three years and was subsequently extended by 18 months. Now, Ukrainians who arrived in the UK after February 24, 2022, will be able to remain in the country under this program for a total of 6.5 years, until the autumn of 2028.

Moreover, this period will not count towards the residency requirement for British citizenship.
