Turkey Will Continue to Play a Special Role in Ukrainian Settlement: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that Turkey will continue to play a special role in the Ukrainian settlement. This statement was made during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We are grateful to our Turkish friends for their significant contribution to the political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Since May of this year, we have already held three rounds of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations on the Istanbul platform, which have allowed us to advance on practical solutions to several humanitarian issues,” Putin said.

“I believe that Turkey's special role in these matters will continue to be in demand,” the Russian leader added.
