Putin Outlines Conditions for Long-Term Resolution of Ukraine Conflict
Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined the conditions for a long-term resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. At the Alaska summit, agreements reached have opened pathways for peace in Ukraine, stated Putin.
“For a long-term resolution, the radical causes of the Ukrainian crisis must be eliminated,” said Putin. He added that the political leadership that opposed the country's NATO membership was ousted following the state coup in Ukraine in 2014.
Putin noted that Western attempts to recruit Ukraine into NATO are among the reasons for the Ukrainian crisis.
