Putin and Trump Have Not Coordinated a Meeting with Zelensky, Ushakov Says
Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have not coordinated the question of holding a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, neither bilaterally nor trilaterally. This was announced by Yuri Ushakov, the assistant to the Russian president.
According to him, during the negotiations in Alaska, Putin and Trump only discussed "how to proceed in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict." Ushakov clarified that the idea of raising the level of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations was indeed discussed during the Anchorage summit, but no specific proposals have been received yet.
The Russian president's assistant added that Vladimir Putin informed his foreign partners about the results of the meeting with Trump during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. "The Russian-Ukrainian conflict was naturally discussed behind the scenes. The President of Russia spoke about this with many partners, including President Xi Jinping and, of course, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Ushakov said.
