No Shortage of Traffic Violations: Ministry of Internal Affairs Releases Data

From August 25 to September 1, during the service conducted in the capital, Yerevan police identified 4,938 violations of traffic rules, moving 213 vehicles to designated areas. Specifically, 215 drivers were found to be intoxicated, and 217 individuals were driving without a valid driver's license.

Additional violations included 23 related to registration plates, 1,180 for not wearing seatbelts, 44 for driving without a child safety seat, 519 for smoking while driving, 349 for using a phone while driving, 256 for pedestrians crossing in unauthorized areas, and 1,539 other violations.

Furthermore, 140 vehicles were operated without compulsory vehicle insurance, 251 without undergoing technical inspection, 61 were found with malfunctioning lights, and 51 had tinted windshields and side windows. In addition, 64 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to community police departments, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

During the same period, police in the regions reported 12,834 traffic violations, moving 246 vehicles to protected areas. Among these, 217 drivers were found to be intoxicated, 410 were driving without a driver's license, and one was driving with a fake driver's license.

Other violations included 63 related to registration plates, 4,084 for not wearing seatbelts, 183 for lacking child safety seats, 446 for smoking while driving, 606 for using a phone while driving, 96 for pedestrians crossing in unauthorized places, 2,050 for speeding, and 3,397 other violations.

A total of 319 vehicles were operated without compulsory insurance, 574 were not tested for technical compliance, 341 had malfunctioning lights, including 13 trucks, and 129 had tinted windshields and side windows. Additionally, 29 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to territorial departments of the community police.
