Initiative to Demand Macron's Resignation in France

The leader of France's left-wing party, Mathilde Panot, has announced her intention to impeach President Emmanuel Macron.

The party plans to present an initiative to the parliament to impeach Macron one day after a vote of confidence in the current government. This was stated by Panot, who is the head of the party's parliamentary group, on the X social media platform.

It is important to note that the cabinet's vote of confidence is scheduled for September 8. “On September 9, we will present our proposal to remove President Emmanuel Macron from power,” the statement reads.

According to Panot, following the victory of the left-wing party in the 2024 parliamentary elections, the current president refused to appoint their candidate as prime minister.
