I Will Personally Invest Efforts in Implementing Agreements Between Moscow and Tehran. Pezeshkian
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a bilateral meeting during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China, discussing various aspects of the international agenda, including the issue surrounding the Iranian nuclear program. The meeting lasted for 2 hours.
Pezeshkian stated that the entry into force of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran will contribute to strengthening the ties between Tehran and Moscow. “I completely share your opinion that the activation of our main agreement will help increase trade turnover between the countries, as well as expand our relations in all directions. This document was recently ratified by the Iranian parliament,” said the Iranian president.
During the meeting, he also promised that he would personally invest all efforts into fulfilling the agreements reached between Moscow and Tehran.
In turn, Vladimir Putin noted that the renewed intergovernmental agreement signed in January has elevated the two countries' relations to a new level. By the end of 2024, mutual trade turnover has increased by 13%, and in the first half of 2025, it has grown by an additional 11.4%. Additionally, the number of Iranian students studying in Russia has tripled over five years, reaching 9,100.
