Former Chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada Shot Dead in Lviv

Andrei Parubiy, the former Chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, has been shot dead in Lviv. He led the parliament from 2016 to 2019 and earlier held the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed the death of the former speaker. “Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko and Prosecutor General Ruslan Riaboshapka just reported the first known circumstances of the horrific murder that took place in Lviv. Andrei Parubiy has died. I express my condolences to his relatives and close ones,” wrote the President of Ukraine.
